Reformation Festival Celebration in New Seminary Chapel, Chinendega, Nicaragua

The included letter and pictures from Lutheran Church-Canada Missionary, Sandor Arguella, to a group of Mission Partner congregations in Alberta featured in the April 2007 Mission Advocate article "Hands on Missions" provides a current update on the building of dormitories at the Mission Centre/Seminary in Chinendega. This is also one of the 2007 mission projects being supported by CLMS. See 2007 Approved Mission Project 0711.

Dear Terry and Melanie:

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I hope and pray that everything is well with you.

I just wanted to share that we are ready to start using the dormitories and beds you and your faithful teams from your congregations assisted us to build. This coming Sunday, June 3, there will be 35 new students sleeping in our mission center and taking the two theological courses with Rev. Gilvan de Azevedo and Rev. David Maffett. All of them will be here until June 16.

We all around here are like crazy because we are still working on some details, like painting, installing, fans, curtains, mirrors, making beds, etc. We'll start receiving the students from Panama, Costa Rica and Honduras tomorrow morning. The Nicaraguans will be here on Sunday evening.

Until now we have just three dormitories completed thanks to your blessed support and generosity. We'll have the chance to accommodate in them 20 students. The rest will be sleeping in our mission offices (as you were).

We have received the good news that CLMS is planning to build another dormitory in celebration of its 10th Anniversary. The team will be visiting Nicaragua by November 2007.

We also have been blessed with some funds to start putting the metal structure for the roof on our Martin Luther Chapel. We hope and pray to complete this job before the national forming convention by January 2008.

I am attaching some pictures of the dormitories for you to share with those faithful ones who contributed with our ministry and mission projects.
