Legacy or Planned Gifts

Gifts from your estate provide a wonderful opportunity to support CLMS beyond what may be possible while you are living. For many, there is great satisfaction in knowing their estate gift will provide CLMS with needed funding over many years. Whether designated as an outright gift, or placed into an endowment with annual distributions, there is potential to support CLMS long after you have gone.  For free assistance in planning such a gift, we recommend you speak with Lutheran Foundation Canada.

Gifts of Life Insurance

Gifting Life Insurance is a wonderful way to leverage the value of premium payments in order to make a larger “estate” gift. Donors can either list CLMS as the beneficiary of a policy, or they can transfer ownership of a policy to CLMS, while still paying the premiums.   As the premiums are then considered a gift, the donor receives a charitable receipt, effectively dropping the premium cost by close to 50%.  For details and assistance on how this works, we recommend you speak to Lutheran Foundation Canada.

Project Funding Policy

Each gift designated toward a board-approved project will be used as specified, with the understanding that when any given project has been fully funded, designated gifts will be applied to a similar project in the same region or where needed.
